Girls Night Out

There is nothing quite like going out with the girls on a friday night to watch some hot men in action! Fast and the furious came out when I was in 9th grade and I loved it just as much then as I did last night...Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Tyrese and the Rock are a smokin' hot bunch of guys to watch for 2 hours plus all the cars, the sexy gun fights and the running from authority....I couldn't have had a better night!

Every Girls Dream

How beautiful is Kate? Im not going to lie I was so excited for the Royal wedding and contemplated waking up at 3am to watch the ceremony...I ended up sleeping through it but was lucky enough to watch the whole thing at work today. What a fairytale ending and what a gorgeous couple. She is absolutely stunning.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter...this was a different Easter for us than usual. We are normally out of town in Moab enjoying the Jeep Safari but this year it just didnt work out in everyone's schedules to go so we stayed home and still had a great time.
 Girlies
 Hugs
J got a huge goose egg just before coming over...
 We love sidewalk chalk
Cute Mayc drawing easter hop scotch bunnies
The sweetest boy I know...he makes me laugh constantly
J and Mand smelling the flowers

The Living Room

After Easter breakfast this morning we took a little hike up to the living room just above the U. Today was such a beautiful day and before I start a crazy week I needed to get outside and rejuvenate myself. The living room isn't a very long hike but boy is it a stair-stepper....Im getting my bum in shape little by little. I had never been to the living room before today and I must say its a Wasatch mountain must...the scenery is gorgeous and well worth the hike.

Gunpowder and Lead

"I'm going home gonna load my shotgun, wait by the door and light a cigarette, if he wants fight, well now he's got one and he ain't seen me crazy yet" ~Miranda Lambert

I needed to get a little aggression out and a shotgun is just the ticket...My dad took me out to Lee Kay to shoot a few rounds of Skeet. The weather was a bit chilly so we only shot for about an hour but it was a fun midday activity and a great stress reliever...we will definitely be doing it again soon!~

Reduce...Reuse....Recycle...Replenish

Earth Day 2011
10 things you can do to help save the earth
1. Pay attention to how you use water. The little things can make a big difference
2. Leave your car at home. If you can stay off the road just two days a week, you'll reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 1,590 pounds per year.
3. Walk or ride your bike to work, school or anywhere you can.
4. Recycle.You can help reduce pollution just by putting that soda can in a different bin. If you're trying to choose between two products, pick the one with the least packaging.
5. Compost
6. Change your light bulbs. Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) last 10 times longer than a standard bulb and use at least two-thirds less energy.
7. Make your home more energy efficient.
8. Maintain your car. Underinflated tires decrease fuel economy by up to three percent and lead to increased pollution and higher greenhouse gas emissions.
9. Drive smarter- slow down.
10. Turn off lights when you're not in the room and unplug appliances when you're not using them. It only takes a second to be environmentally conscious.

She is such a beauty! Anyways this was our first adventure together and it was a great one....more pictures coming soon!

Flying High...

“Whatever obstacles appear in your path, put your head down and get past them. Those obstacles aren’t real. They’re just God’s way of testing you. He’s asking you, “Do you want to make it or not?”
- Russell Simmons, American entrepreneur and philanthropist.

I feel like I am up in the clouds right now...after my fair share of obstacles the last few months I have finally overcome them! Yesterday was a BIG day for me, after not passing the HESI my first try, I overcame that dang exam and passed yesterday with a 919 (you need better than 800) I walked out of that test so happy I couldnt stop smiling and I immediately had butterflies in my stomach...one more thing to mark of my list, one more thing that takes me closer to becoming a nurse...I am down to 21 days until graduation and have never been happier, finally my nursing school road is coming to an end. Someone once told me that all things are a matter of the mind and all you need to do it take your mind over the matter...that has never been truer for me than right now in my life. Sitting down to take that exam I had to focus my thoughts just on the question in front of me and put all other thoughts to the side, and doing that completely paid off...passing the HESI is something so silly and small in the grand scheme of things but passing that exam just proved to me that whatever the obstacle I can overcome it.

“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.”

- Rabindranath Tagore, Poet, Novelist & Asia’s first Nobel laureate.

The Challenge...

I went shopping at Whole Foods last night with my mom and had the most fun at a grocery store that anyone could probably ever have...we spent a solid hour laughing about everything possible...we watched an Oprah episode last week about slaughterhouses and she had Michael Pollan and Kathy Fretson on as guest speakers talking about food, animals, the way we eat and the impact it has on the earth, our health and our futures...it was so interesting! Oprah challenged her staff to a vegan diet for 1 week so we are trying out our own little challenge...I am already vegetarian so cutting out a few more animal products shouldnt been that hard...except I am going to miss my good winder dairy milk ;) we will see how this goes!

Go Utah

Friday night we went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and I got the best alfredo cheese pizza...it was divine....then we headed over to the ESA to watch the Jazz/Lakers Game! The game was so good and intense the first three quarters and then the Jazz just started to lose their momentum! :( I love sporting events and I get so into them...thanks to my dad...so can I say how annoying it is to be sitting around a bunch of people who are cheering for the opposing team. Seriously...if you are going to be a Laker fan in Utah maybe you should go back to California! Nothing pisses me off more than sitting through a 3 hour basketball game listening to people cheer for the Lakers every time they make a basket. Where is your loyalty to Utah?! I wanted the Jazz to win that game so bad but unfortunately they didn't...maybe next time! Despite the Jazz loss I had such a great night...great company..great laughs...great dinner...great time rocking out in the car waiting to get out of the gateway parking terrace!
Oh and I have a new favorite...number 34 rocked my world!

A bit about LOVE...

Love is more than a feeling. Love is a state of being, a choice, a verb and, when chosen, a very powerful force in the Uni-verse.

When you choose to love someone, you love them even when you don't necessarily like them from time to time. Love transcends moods, circumstances or money. The choice you make to love someone unconditionally is one of the highest choices you can ever make.

If you make your intention to enter into relationships with the mindset "How may I serve" and "How can I grow", instead of "what can I get", that intention will reveal to you so many wonderful things.

The promise of loving someone isn't that they will stay with you for the rest of your life; the promise of loving someone is that you will learn so much about yourself. Many times we have to go through a lot of different relationships to understand what we really want and who we really are. It is through the pain of relationships ending that we truly learn about ourselves and why we make the choices we do.

It is only by wholeheartedly loving the people we choose to be in relationships with that we can see how deep and real the relationship is. If you're in a relationship with someone who doesn't enjoy being in your presence, then the lesson isn't that they are a jerk; ask yourself why you chose to be with someone like that.

It is only by loving deeply that we can live meaningfully and learn about ourselves. Don't live to avoid the pain of heartbreak. Instead live with your heart wide open and let yourself learn the lessons love is trying to teach you. If you don't learn the lesson, you'll just keep attracting the same person in different shoes.

But if you learn the lessons, do the work, and keep your heart open - each relationship will get better and better until you finally find someone that you really gel with - you will find your life partner.

So, today, live openly. Learn the lessons from relationships of the past. Keep your heart open and know that each time it breaks, it's not getting weaker, it's actually getting stronger and wiser.

Finally, don't seek out the perfect lover. Don't chase love. There is nothing and no one to chase. Spend your time being a person who is worthy of being loved and love will be yours in the perfect time.

Learn the lessons. Stop the chase. Open up. Get busy being love-able and all love-able things will flow to you. This is the promise of love.

"Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward."
